Pragati bags ‘best theme based resort’ Conferred by Telangana tourism Dept.

Hyderabad, 27th September, 2015:  In a glittering ceremony held at Taramati Baradari, Telangana Tourism Department gave away the Tourism awards on Sunday to coincide with the World Tourism Day. Pragati Resorts received ‘the Best Theme based Resort’ award for the year 2015 from K. Taraka Rama  Rao, Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj.  Addressing the august gathering KTR congratulated the award recipients and spoke about the wide potential of tourism to boost the economy of the state.  KTR said that the economies of countries like Malaysia, Singapore and Srilanka are dependent on tourism sector to a large extent while the tremendous potential of tourism in India with its multi cultural and linguistic diversity remained untapped.  A young state like Telangana promises boundless opportunities where imagination is the limit. Government can act only as a catalyst but with the active participation of various stake holders in the public private partnership mode.

Talking about the recent initiatives taken by the Telangana Government he said that the government has increased the tourism budget to INR 600 crore for 2015-16.  In line with the state government’s focus on ecotourism and adventure tourism the central government is expected to grant 100 CR towards development of integrated eco-tourism circuit of Mahabubnagar.

The award function was presided over by B. Venkatesham, Secretary – Tourism Department attended by K.V. Ramana Chary Advisor to Govt, P. Ramulu – Chairman, TS TDC, Christina, Managing Director TS TDC and other senior officials.  On the occasion a Coffee table book on ‘Ancient temples of Telangana’ and another on ‘Protected monuments of Telangana’ was released.  Also inaugurated a Mobile application on Tourism, Website of Department of Archaeology & Museum, Touch screen Kiosk, Short film on Archaeological and historical sites of Telangana.

Pragati Resorts and the knowledge park has been in the news in the recent past for having created a zero pollution environment free from mosquitoes, bad bacteria, viruses through the 780 varieties of sacred herbal heritage medicinal plantation that remove toxins and refresh an individual through aroma therapy.  The contribution of Pragati for conservation of Biodiversity has been acknowledged by the UN Biodiversity convention in the presence of 600 city mayors of the world during the COP-11 event held in October, 2012.  The 2.5 million plantation in the area with innovative techniques of gardening including Organic farming besides augmenting the water resources with water harvesting, drip irrigation, water sprinklers has reduced the temperature levels here by 6 – 7 degrees as compared to city levels. Chief Minister KCR has been referring to Pragati as a role model for creation of mosquito free zone in his recent public addresses and directing the concerned officials to visit Pragati along with the representatives of welfare associations and other local bodies to acquaint themselves with the healthy practices of plantation so that the technology could be replicated across the state. Pragati has also signed an MOU with Govt. of A.P. recently for setting up a world class biodiversity knowledge and theme park in Visakhapatnam.

Pragati sign’s MOU with AP govt for Biodiversity Knowledge Park in Vizag at an investment of 300 crores

Vijayawada, 14th September, 2015: Pragati Group signed a land mark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Department of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh for development of “World Class Biodiversity Knowledge and theme Park”  in Visakhapatnam District. Pragati’s proposed Biodiversity Park is coming up at Tangudubilli Village, Mutcherla Panchayath, Anandapuram Mandal in Visakhapatnam district with an investment outlay of Rs. 300 crores. The Government of A.P. is in the process of alienation of land for the Project.

The MOU signing marked the launch of A.P. Government’s ‘Tourism Mission and Tourism Policy 2015 – 20’ here on Monday at Hotel Taj Gateway by N Chandra Babu Naidu, chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It is a part of the Department of Tourism, Govt. of A.P’s initiative for Tourism Development. As a part of the initiative the Government has planned several significant activities towards achieving fast paced growth in the Tourism sector.

Pragati’s proposed world class biodiversity Knowledge and theme park has its own unique features with about 32 thematic components which is first of its kind Bio-Diversity Tourism Project. Each of these components serve as a vehicle for bio-diversity, entertainment, tourist attraction and knowledge centres constructed around the principle theme of wilderness. A project of this stature and detail would cater to both national & international tourist interests. This project is expected to emerge as a land mark and enhance the Brand image of the state in general and Visakhapatnam District in particular.

The surrounding villagers are eagerly looking for this kind of projects which will enhance the quality of life and will provide livelihood.

Karimnagar Villagers surprised to see mosquito free Pragati Resorts

A study team from Chinnamulkanoor village visited Pragati to study Plantation Technology for creating mosquito free area – on the direction of CM KCR as a part of Gram Jyothi Programme.

Hyderabad, 13th September, 2015: A 180 member team of villagers from Chinnamulkanoor village under Chigurumamidi Mandal of Karimnagar district visited Pragati Resorts on Sunday. The team led by B. Sreenivas, District Project Manager, DRDA and coordinator of Husnabad constituency, Karimnagar District was accompanied by Sarpanch Makutam Rajaiah, vice Sarpanch Smbari Babu, women self help groups, MPTC members, ward members of the village and villagers came on a study trip to Pragati.

The team studied the sacred herbal heritage plantation methodology adopted by Pragati Resorts to create a mosquito free area, innovative plantation, irrigation, agricultural and horticultural techniques. The team also studied sanitation and other innovative farming measures adopted by Pragati. After the study trip B. Sreenivas said, “It has been an enlightening experience coming to Pragati. Before coming here we had no idea about the kind of plantation done here that can make an area mosquito free.” Sarpanch Makutam Rajaiah said, “It was an invaluable experience to study about the wide variety of herbal plants which are an integral part of our Indian Vedic Culture and play such an important role in our day to day life for giving us a healthy living. Pragati has taken up a great task of collecting these plants.”

The Chief Minister of Telangana KCR in his recent public address at Chinnamulkanoor, Chigurumamidi Mandal, Karimnagar District gave a clarion call to the people of the village to visit Pragati Resorts near Hyderabad and Ankapur, a model village in Nizamabad district to study the healthy agricultural practices. Especially to study innovative plantation techniques to create mosquito free area developed by Pragati Resorts. KCR in his address then said, “It was miraculous to see the impact of plantation done by Pragati at my place which has enabled to make it free from mosquitoes.” The Chinnamulkanoor village is among the villages adopted by KCR for developing self sustainable model villages.

At the recent launch of Grama Jyothi Programme at Gangadevipally village in Warangal district KCR reiterated on the importance of sanitation as an integral part of Rural Development and advised the people to study the innovative techniques adopted for creation of mosquito free place at Pragati Resort.

It has enabled to create a zero pollution environment, make the area completely free from mosquitoes, bad bacteria, deadly viruses and other toxic emissions.
